Hands-On

MATLAB

I got my first 3D printer, a Creality Ender 5, during the pandemic, which led me to learn CAD, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and many more skills through YouTube. I upgraded it with a direct-drive hotend, added OctoPrint for monitoring, and installed a BL Touch for auto bed leveling, troubleshooting firmware and hardware issues along the way. I also worked on my printer’s motherboard and other electronics. Since then, I’ve upgraded my 3D printing setup and created projects that pushed me to become a better engineer.

Creality Ender 5

  • The Ender 5 is a basic Core XY FDM 3D printer. It doesn’t have any advanced features and offers great value for the cost. This was my first printer and was a great introduction to the hobby. I added many cool features later on.

Bambu Labs X1-Carbon

  • The X1-Carbon is one of the best consumer 3D printers on the market right now. It offers advanced features such as fast printing speeds, auto bed leveling, multi-color printing, and exceptional print quality. This is very good for prototyping.

Ender 3 S1

  • The Ender 3 S1 to me is a great printer and a very good value.
